As a passionate educator, over the past 16 years, Misty Sharp has had the opportunity to hold a number of professional roles including General Music Teacher, Music Director, Band Director, Choir Director, Musical Director, S.T.E.A.M Teacher, and Private Music Instructor to diverse ethnic groups, cultures, and a wide range of age groups. Misty Sharp has developed a great rapport with her community, faculty, parents, and students through written and oral communication, programs, field trips, and workshops.
Misty Sharp was born and raised in the inner city of Detroit, Michigan and is still actively involved in aiding the hard times Detroit face. Founder of Art on the Block: A non-profit organization in pursuit to inspired children in run down urban communities to see beauty in their surroundings by beautifying what we have and appreciating the arts. Art on the Block brings live bands, face painting, chalk walks, and positive word art that is later displayed on abandoned homes on their block.

Misty Sharp has written, composed, and directed musical productions with the participation of more than 300 students:
"A Journey Through Africa" and "Celebrating Over 400 Years of African American Music. Misty is the founder and CEO of
Fresh Muzic Productions. These productions include Hip Hop dancers, tap dancers, gumboot dancers, acting, solo vocalist, a chorus, modern dancers, tumblers, percussion ensembles, praise dancers, and poets.
Ms. Sharp led her school's Junior Beta Club "Group Talent" participants to Fifth Place out the state of Georgia.
Misty Sharp was recognized by Envision and People to People for identifying young scholars
who display outstanding leadership abilities.




In addition to being an educator, Misty Sharp is an International Flutist, Vocalist, and Producer.

Misty Sharp is a Member of the The Recording Academy and BMI.


Misty Sharp is founder of a mentoring program and performance group "Misty Sharp & The Future."
Misty Sharp & The Future is a mentoring program that allows young musicians to perform in a professional setting to gain experience as paid performers. "The Future" has performed at U Space Art Gallery, Center Stage, and the Atlanta Science Festival, just to name a few.
In 2014 Misty relocated to San Francisco, where she taught K-8 in the Mission District.
Misty became a certified "Little Kids Rock" Teacher and Trainer.

Misty started an after school Band Program.
Her students performed at the Asian Art Museum and Carnival.

She also started an instrumental String Program.

Her students were featured at the Asian Art Museum and Carnival San Francisco.
Misty Sharp presented a session at the Summer 2015 Rock Fest
"How to Start a Modern Band with Two Popular Songs"

In 2016, Misty relocated to Houston, Texas to become a UIL Choir Director.
In this past year, Misty has had four choir students selected for Region Choir.

She has lead her choir to a sweet victory in Sight Reading and
an overall Excellent stage performance in UIL.

Mrs. Sharp also registered 35 students for a Solo & Ensemble Contest.
25 students received Superior (1) ratings and medals and
10 received Excellent (2) ratings and certificates.

In 2017 Misty Sharp relocated back to her hometown Detroit, MI after 16 years where she led the Detroit Children's choir "Chorale".

Misty Sharp prepared the chorale to perform with the Americana Ballet, The Michigan Philharmonic, and The Detroit Symphony Youth Ensemble

The chorale performed at the Motown Mansion, Hitsville USA, and the Detroit Orchestra Hall.
